🧠 Weekly Signal

Neurotechnology News | Oct 25–Oct 31, 2025

Let's cut through the noise this week!

This week, we saw head-to-head trial activity in generalized myasthenia gravis and fresh data supporting neonatal Fc receptor (FcRn) strategies. Meanwhile, neuromodulation financing and CRO capacity expanded. Bottom line: regulatory-grade trials and scaled deployment keep tightening the loop from bench to bedside.

🧠 SCIENCE & CLINICAL TRIALS

🟢 J&J launches EPIC head-to-head gMG study (nipocalimab vs efgartigimod)

Published: October 29, 2025
Read more ➡️ NeurologyLive / Press Release

EPIC is a randomized phase 3b study comparing two FcRn blockers in adults with generalized myasthenia gravis (n≈80 FcRn-naïve; switch arm included). Endpoints include change in total IgG and sustained disease control by MG-ADL and QMG at weeks 8–12.

💡 Big Picture: Prospective within-class data could finally guide FcRn selection and switching strategies in routine gMG care.

🟢 Argenx presents VYVGART data including seronegative gMG results

Published: October 29, 2025

Company presentations at AANEM/MGFA highlighted phase 3 ADAPT SERON outcomes in seronegative gMG and long-term/real-world findings across subgroups. Reported measures included MG-ADL improvements and steroid-sparing signals.

💡 Big Picture: Evidence for benefit in seronegative patients could broaden FcRn use and reshape treatment algorithms if labels expand.

💼 INDUSTRY & STARTUPS

🟢 EIB provides €20M venture loan to Precisis for EASEE® expansion

Published: October 30, 2025
Read more ➡️ The European Sting / European Investment Bank

The European Investment Bank’s venture debt supports manufacturing scale-up, clinical development, and EU market access for Precisis’s minimally invasive epicranial neurostimulation (EASEE®) for focal epilepsy. The financing is backed by InvestEU.

💡 Big Picture: Institutional capital is validating patient-specific neuromodulation and accelerating EU deployment.

🟢 Avance Clinical opens dedicated CNS Center of Excellence

Published: October 28–29, 2025
Read more ➡️ BioSpace / GlobeNewsWire

The CRO’s CNS hub concentrates neuroscience trial design, recruitment, and biomarker expertise across regions to speed first-in-human and later-phase programs. The initiative targets startup and mid-cap sponsors facing site activation and enrollment delays.

💡 Big Picture: Expanded specialist capacity may shorten CNS trial timelines and reduce execution risk for neuro startups.

🏛️ POLICY & ETHICS

🟢 “Minds, Freedoms & Rights” — international conference on neuro-rights and neuro-AI (Amsterdam)

Published: October 30–31, 2025
Read more ➡️ cenetherlands / Program

Legal scholars and ethicists examined mental privacy, evidentiary use of neurodata, and AI-enabled neurotech governance across EU contexts. Sessions focused on rights frameworks and potential constraints on commercial and forensic uses.

💡 Big Picture: Europe is stress-testing governance models that could influence neural data rights and compliance requirements for neurotech firms.
